Kids at The Compound Gym: How We Support Families and Future Lifters

Fitness Should Fit Your Life — Kids and All

We know how tough it can be to find time for yourself when you’re juggling school runs, sport, and everything in between. That’s why The Compound Gym is proud to be a family-friendly space, offering an environment where your kids are welcome — whether they’re watching you train or getting involved themselves.

No need for a babysitter — just bring them along.

Our Kid-Friendly Zone: Safe, Chill, and Close By

While we don’t have a staffed crèche, we’ve created a dedicated kids area that’s safe, relaxed, and just a few steps away from the training floor. It’s designed so your kids can feel comfortable while you focus on your session.

Here’s what’s inside:

  • 🛋️ A comfy couch and bean bags
  • 🎨 Colouring, games, and books to keep little hands busy
  • 🪑 A table area for drawing, homework, or snacks
  • 📚 A chill vibe where kids can hang out or quietly observe

This space allows you to train with peace of mind, knowing your kids are nearby and entertained.

A Parent’s Perspective

Here’s what one of our regular members (and mum of two) had to say:

“The Compound Gym is hands down one of the most amazing places I’ve ever trained. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that it’s more than just a gym — it’s a community, a family.
One of the absolute highlights for me as a parent is the dedicated kids space. It’s a total game-changer! It allows busy mums and dads to get their workout in while knowing their little ones can chill out too.
The energy in the gym is always positive and encouraging, and no matter your fitness level, you’re made to feel like you belong. It’s the kind of place that makes you look forward to going — not just for the workout, but for the people.
I can’t recommend The Compound Gym enough — it’s the second family I didn’t know I needed!”

Leading by Example: Let Your Kids See You Train

We believe in exposing kids to exercise early — not by forcing it, but by letting them see it as normal, positive, and fun. When kids watch their parents move, challenge themselves, and show up consistently, they begin to understand that movement is something to be celebrated — not dreaded.

We’ve seen it firsthand:

  • Kids become curious and inspired
  • They start trying things at home
  • They associate the gym with strength, confidence, and fun

Want to Train With Your Kids? You Can!

Once kids are 8 years or older, they can start training alongside a parent at The Compound — as long as both the child and guardian complete a gym induction with one of our coaches.

This ensures that your child knows how to move safely, follow gym etiquette, and enjoy the process.

We’ll work with you both to make it fun, empowering, and age-appropriate.

Custom Programming for Young Athletes

  • We also offer custom programs for kids and teens, especially those involved in sport. Whether your child is:

    • Preparing for a footy or netball season
    • Working on speed and coordination for dance or athletics
    • Looking to build confidence and resilience through movement

…we’ve got options for both individuals and teams. These sessions are designed to build strength, reduce injury risk, and help kids feel strong in their bodies.

Final Thoughts: A Gym That Grows With Your Family

  • Whether your child is reading on the couch or joining you for squats, The Compound Gym is a place where families are welcome, supported, and celebrated.

Because fitness shouldn’t feel like another stress — it should fit into your life.
